I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills…” (Psalm121:1)

Will-The mental faculty by which one deliberately chooses or decides upon a course of action.

The psalmist decided that regardless of insurmountable circumstances he faced, he would always keep looking to the Lord who not only made the hills but also heaven and earth. Trials and storms are designed to keep us looking down feeling hopeless and intimidated, but like the psalmist we must deliberately choose to keep looking to the source of our help and strength.

Beloved, when we are in trouble let us not  look around, look within, or look behind us; instead let us LOOK UP, knowing that our help comes from the Lord.

I Will Bless The Lord

“I will bless the Lord at all times.” (Ps 34:1)
 Bless- to speak well of.

The psalmist made a deliberate decision that regardless of his circumstance he will always bless the Lord, in the good times and the bad times he will not cease to speak well of the Lord. Circumstances should not determine whether or not we bless the Lord.

“I will” means I have decided to be deliberate about speaking well of the Lord.

Job’s wife gave him the ungodly counsel” to curse God and die”(Job 2:9); she allowed the bad things that were happening to determine her worship , but Job purposed to bless the Lord God who is in control of time and seasons.

Beloved, bless the Lord in the lion’s den, in the pit, in the prison, in the desert, and in the palace; let us bless the Lord at ALL times.

All Things Work Together For Good

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”(Rom 8:28)

Whenever I think of the scripture, in order to bring clarity I always think of baking a cake. All the ingredients flour, eggs, butter, sugar, and spices; by themselves are not tasty or pleasant but when I begin to combine them even before it is placed in the oven the mixture is savory.

Beloved, difficult things may happen to us, but at the end of it all God will cause something good to come out of our difficulties and accomplish His purpose in our lives.

Prisoner Of Hope

“Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.”(Zec  9:12)

Hope is having a trustful expectation particularly with the fulfillment of God’s promises.
Prisoner is a person who is deprived of liberty against their will.

The Lord admonishes us to become prisoners, slaves, or even a captive to Hope. Whenever we are tempted to be prisoners of hopelessness we can decide to be hopeful; because God can and will give us double for anything that may have been lost, or stolen.

To be a prisoner of hope means:-
·         You always have a confident expectation of good.
·         You are always looking forward.

Beloved, let us exit the prison of discouragement and depression and enter the prison of hope, security and prosperity; by making a decision to cultivate an attitude of hope in our life.

God The Finisher

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..”(Heb 12:2)

God, who is the Beginning and the Ending, does not  leave what He has started undone; so we can trust Him to finish the wonderful work that He has began in us. “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”(Phil 1:6)

Like Paul testifies,” I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”(2 Tim 4:7)

Beloved, let us fight the good fight of faith, so we can finish the race as we keep our eyes on the Lord knowing that He will finish what He has started in our lives.
